Before you include a relief, check these first

  • Paid by you: the amount should normally be an actual payment you made, not just a quote, unpaid bill or employer-paid benefit.
  • Correct person: check whether the relief is for yourself, spouse, child, parent, grandparent or your own policy/account.
  • Proof available: keep receipts, invoices, statements or certificates that show the amount, date, payee and purpose.
  • Right tax year: claim expenses paid within the assessment year you are filing for.
  • Name details match: where possible, keep documents under your name or clearly connected to the eligible person you are claiming for.

    Common questions

Useful details before you trust the number.

Is this the exact PCB amount?

No. It is an estimate based on annual taxable income divided by 12. Payroll systems may calculate PCB differently based on benefits, previous income and declared reliefs.

Why does tax jump faster than SOCSO and EIS?

SOCSO and EIS are capped at the RM6,000 wage ceiling in this estimate, while income tax rises with chargeable income under progressive rates.

Should I include allowances and bonus?

Add fixed monthly allowances if they are part of recurring pay. Annual bonus affects the tax estimate but is not counted as normal monthly cashflow.

    Is my salary data saved?

No. The calculator runs in your browser and does not send your salary entries anywhere.
